Cookies Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information about the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or later, even after several days (persistent cookies).

Cookies are stored, depending on the user’s preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, clear GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and usage of the services.

In the remainder of this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply by using the term “cookies”.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be first-party or third-party, where “first-party” refers to cookies developed by the site owner itself, while “third party” refers to cookies developed by third parties vis-à-vis the site owner.

Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:

  1. Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service.

They are not used for any other purpose and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:

browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or to authenticate oneself to access reserved areas); they are necessary for the proper functioning of the site;

analytical cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve the performance of the site;

functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user. The installation of these cookies does not require the prior consent of the users (more information in the Cookie Management section below).

  1. Profiling cookies
    Profiling cookies are designed to create profiles relating to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when browsing the Internet.

The use of profiling cookies requires the consent of the data subject. In accordance with the n. 229 of 8 May 2014 The user must be able to authorise or refuse consent to the installation of profiling cookies if they are present.

In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). You can always manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites indicated in the “Managing Cookies” section.

The User is therefore invited to check on the third-party site indicated below.
